BRITISH SOCCER-2
There's nothing like playing
soccer during the World Cup! Soccer bet has been living, breathing, and playing
soccer this week. It's been a blast. The word "blast" reminds me of
Benjamin Siegel's right foot. Benjamin Siegel has been blasting soccer balls in
the back of the net like his uncle Pele.
Gardner, Marcus, Ethan and I have thoroughly enjoyed playing and
competing with the athletes this week. Every morning, Coach James Fryar
instructs us with professional drills and competitions. In the afternoon, we
join soccer aleph to form our World Cup teams. Every afternoon, countries face
off in the World Cup style scrimmages. Elijah Sorin has been dominating
tournament play for his team. Overall, we have had an incredible time and Have
learned a lot. We love soccer and can't wait for the USA to beat Portugal
Sunday night!
THEATRE CAMP
Today we prepared for our
final performance in front of the entire camp that will happen during Shabbat
today. We have worked extremely hard and are so excited to show everyone at
camp. The girls did a great job in this Broadway Palooza performance.
SABRA CAMP
Sabra camp has been gearing
up this week to spend the next week in the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri at
camp sabra. We have had a fun filled week of field trips all around Memphis!
Our campers have really been getting to know all of their soon to be bunk
mates. Adam Epstein and Mia Engelberg are so excited that they just can't
contain it. Today we learned the "welcome to camp sabra" song so that
we can sing along when the bus finally arrives at camp. We were also able to
sneak in a jam session with Mr. Derek. We can't wait for our pajama ice cream
sleep over on Sunday night before we head out of town. See ya later MJCC!!.
SCIENCE CAMP
Science camp’s mission for
the day: discover what's inside dirt!
The campers learned earlier this week that dirt is made of minerals
water air and plants. We're scavenging
around the campground looking for each of these items to fill a plastic bag and
make our own dirt! We are also talking about the earth and why we have to take
care of our dirt. We got a special
Kool-Aid project planned for this afternoon. Go science camp!
